Client Cash
Some people are just not good at handling money, and this can be especially true
for people in early recovery. Accountability and responsibility are two key ingredients
for successful recovery, and we strive to instill this in our clients. “Client Cash”
is one way to help clients become responsible, accountable adults. “Client Cash”
is an additional service we offer to help new clients manage their money (or their
families’ money) until they are employed and become self-sufficient (generally for
their first 30 days).
Clients may be allotted a daily allowance of $10, $15, or $20. Clients must come
to the office during designated hours to sign for their allowance each day.
Client Cash may be obtained once a day at the following times:
- Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. OR from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
- Client Cash is not available on Sunday.
When a client needs more than their pre-determined amount, (for groceries or other
necessities) they must request additional funds one business-day in advance. This
gives us time to obtain permission from the family (benefactor) to disburse additional
monies and to ensure that we have adequate cash on hand. We have designated Tuesday
as “Shopping Day.” Our van takes clients to the store every Tuesday to get their
weekly shopping done. To obtain “shopping money” for Tuesday, clients must have their
parent (or benefactor) contact our office no later than 3:00 p.m. on Monday to authorize
the amount of the money needed for shopping. All clients must provide us with receipts
for any amounts taken in excess of their daily allowance. Each client is limited
to one extra cash withdrawal per week. The daily allowance is meant to support their
everyday needs in between shopping trips.
“Client Cash” is a service we offer in addition to the standard housing program;
therefore, it is offered at an additional cost. We charge a fee for each $100 deposited
into a client’s account.
- Credit card deposits are charged at the rate of $15 per $100 deposited.
- Cash, money order, or cashiers’ check deposits are charged at the rate of $10 per
$100 deposited. (We do not accept checks.)
Please note that funds deposited (other than cash) are not immediately available.
Credit card deposits are subject to banking holds and may take 2-3 business days
to become available.
